Design Process
How we make space
From concept to construction management — six steps that turn design into space.
KUKBO Design completes spaces through a six-step process with our clients. Each step shows how we and our clients collaborate.
Concept Design
We propose the design concept, then set the spatial concept through site analysis and precedent research — laying the foundation for circulation and spatial composition right at the concept stage.
Together we draw out the project requirements, then review the visualised concept materials and approve the space program.
Design Planning
We develop plan, ceiling, and elevation drawings; coordinate material and colour schemes; refine furniture design, perspectives, and the overall spatial design — translating the concept into concrete proposals.
You approve the 2D plan, select the contractor, and review the budget.
Basic Design
We manage the execution plan and take direct ownership of construction details, item specifications, and quantity take-offs. The unseen layers are documented with care so that on-site variables stay minimal.
You review the estimate and approve the spatial plan rendered in 3D.
Construction Documentation
We analyse and source materials, fabricate samples, test critical details, and study material life cycles — recommending choices that hold up under long-term operation.
You review and approve every element that will fill the space — finishes, fixtures, electronics.
Construction Bidding
Through construction and on-site management, we realise a sustainable space and verify the material specs ourselves — making sure the design intent translates intact onto the floor.
You sign the construction contract and approve hardware, lighting, and accessories.
Construction Management
We manage the quality-inspection punch list, run customer satisfaction surveys, and own C/S — sustaining the value of the space long after handover.
You conduct the final review and meet the spatial designer and contractor on-site for the closing walk-through.
